I know not everyone can make it out to the book signings and I would hate for you to miss out, so I am bringing the signings to you. For the next two weeks will will be taking your personalization requests...

We have all the new books in the shop now! Sleepy The Goodnight Buddy, Adventures in Drawing, Splendid Life… and i will sign any of them for you! I’ll even sign the old ones if you want!

I will sign your books and draw in them whatever you would like for $10 extra. Just leave your requests in the comments section!

This personalization extravaganza will go until October 19th in The Scott C Shop! The orders will probably start going out around October 22nd.

It has been a wonderful three months of Showdowns prints in the Scott C Shop! Thank you so much for sticking with us as we have navigated the wild ride... we've been listening to your feedback and we have revamped how we are going to do these this time around. To make it easier for you to plan we will be releasing on the third Wednesday every month from here on in and we will be doing a small, 24 hour  open window release for each series.

They will only be available for 24 hours! So you will have to act fast, but you won’t need to stress as much as you usually do. The edition size will be determined by the number sold within the twenty-four hour period. By switching to the twenty-four hour run, we will have to print to order, so estimated ship dates will be four to six weeks after the close of sale.

BUT for the first 100 orders, i will be putting an extra very limited edition print into 20 random orders!

SLEEPY, THE GOODNIGHT BUDDY - Book Tour!

Sleepy the Goodnight Buddy will be out in stores all over the place on September 11th!  Written by the world renowned Drew Daywalt (of The Day the Crayons Quit fame) and with pictures by me (scott c).

Sleepy, the Goodnight Buddy is the story of a boy named Roderick who has a difficult time getting to sleep.  Difficult of his own choosing because he doesn't really want to go to bed.  So his parents get him a GOODNIGHT BUDDY named SLEEPY to help him get the heck to sleep.  Only problem is Sleepy is real annoying and keeps Roderick awake by being nuts.  I will not tell you what happens, but i will say that it is a wild story.  Drew wrote some super funny dialog.  I had a great time illustrating it.  Drew and I get along well with our JOKES.  

Drew and I are embarking on a book tour for this thing this weekend!  Starting with the reception at Gallery Nucleus in LA this Saturday, September 8th!  We will have snacks and reading and drawing time together.  It will be so fun. The show is already up, so you can go see it right now! Most of the SLEEPY artwork along with drawings from ADVENTURES IN DRAWING.  

From there we explore the country!  We will hit the following places, so please come see us in your town!!

New Book: ADVENTURES IN DRAWING!

Hello, everyone!  

I am very excited to announce my NEW BOOK called ADVENTURES IN DRAWING: A Guided Sketchbook!

This will be your very own sketchbook that you can carry around with you wherever you go with prompts and suggestions by me on what to draw! It will be like we are hanging out and brainstorming together!  The book explores the techniques I use to brainstorm ideas and just loosen up my brains.  It will be really fun for us to explore this together.  You want to read the opening line to the book? MAKING OF - "Life On Planet Alien"

Hello, everyone!

"Life On Planet Alien" is available as a timed release print for you in TheScottCShop.com.  But only until August 14th.  So first off, go get that thing right now!

I would like to take you on a little tour of the MAKING OF this painting.  Does that sound like an enjoyable idea?  Well, then let's do it.  Starting with the doodles and brainstorming sketches here...

Here you can see the various thumbnails for the entire piece.  I knew i wanted to have a lot of aliens hanging about together.  I toyed with having them all in that big gun room and all over the egg in the movie poster.  The egg won the idea battle.

Just doodling aliens enjoying their days and nights.

I figured the face huggers would probably be hanging about on the faces of people.  

My favorite little moments were cut out and arranged onto the egg in photoshop.  Real rough.

Printed out the drawing and traced it onto watercolor and started with the skins as usual!  My superstitious start to all paintings.

All the greys!  Make me feel like i am accomplishing a lot. 

Goin through and painting the aliens.

Oh, man.  The lines!  My favorite part.

Just doin those lines.

It's all in there.  now to punch up those values there.

Sometimes i turn this thing upside down to get to the top bits.
