Let us gaze upon “Clock Tower Valley”, inspired by one of my absolute favorite films of all time. Arguably one of the greatest films of all time. Thank you to my friend Peter Sciretta from Slashfilm for his advice on all of the minute details. This is Peter’s favorite film of all time, so he knows what he is talking about, you guys.

I loved making this thing so much. I would like to live in there amongst everyone and just stroll around.

We will be releasing timed edition prints of this thing starting this Wednesday, February 27th at 1pm EST lasting until March 13 that 1pm EST. Once the sale ends the print will no longer be available. The edition size shall be determined by however many have sold in that 2 week span of time.

Also, available on Wednesday will be these 4 pins! The Traveller, The Doctor, The Little Flux, and The Machine. Each pin will be $10 each! A pack of all 4 pins will be $35.

UMBRELLA ACADEMY - Little Animated Bit

Have you seen Umbrella Academy yet? Well, it is wonderful. It is a new super hero show on Netflix based on a comic by the same name illustrated by my good friend Gabriel Ba and written by Gerard Way. It is a unique take on the super hero genre that i find quite refreshing. Ellen Page is just amazing in it, as is Robert Sheehan who plays the wild character called Klaus who can talk to ghosts. It is beautifully designed and you will probably love it.

I was honored to be asked to design a little animated segment in the episode 8 where a character is telling a children’s story about the Umbrella Academy heroes. I painted 7 spreads split into parts to be animated by the marvelous gang at Pip Animation Studios in Toronto. I was happy with how it turned out! This is the first time I have seen my watercolors move like this and it is fun to see. It has tipped my interest into the world of moving pictures. I would like to do more things like this.

I am going to post the 7 shots below, so if you do not want spoilers, DO NOT SCROLL DOWN. I mean, it doesn’t really spoil anything in the show. You will just see what I did for it. So if you want to be surprised go watch the show! Thank you to Jeff King and Steve Blackman who were so great through all of this process. I had a great time with this project.

UNSPOOLED POSTER

Hello, everyone!

I am honored to reveal the new poster I created for Paul Scheer and Amy Nicholson’s new podcast UNSPOOLED available on their podswag site right now!. The podcast in which Paul and Amy embark on the journey of watching every single film on AFi’s top 100 movies of all time list. Classics like Citizen Kane, Taxi Driver, and The Godfather, but also films i know i have never seen like It Happened One Night and Sullivan’s Travels. It is an incredibly enjoyable podcast especially if you dig movies. Paul and Amy uncover some deep cut facts about these films. It is the best.

I teamed up with those guys to come up with 100 smiling objects that represent each of the films on the list and assemble them into a comprehensive poster that will act as a sort of checklist that you can hang on your wall. You can check them off as you watch them. You can go buy this poster on the UNSPOOLED PODSWAG website. But you can also buy it in a bundle along with a specially made 100 SIDED DIE. You can roll that thing to figure out which film to watch next because it is fun watch at random.

DESIGNER CON Nov 16 - 18

Designer Con is this weekend Nov 16 - 18! It will be the first time i have attended this thing, so i am excited to see what it is all about. They have recently moved to Anaheim, so it will be new to most people i suppose.

GREAT SHOWDOWN TIME!

My old friends at Gallery 1988 will be releasing a new set of Great Showdowns for you this Friday. I am very excited about this set, you guys. It is the GHIBLI SET! All little moments from the films of one of my favorite directors.

These will be editions of 150 and only sold as sets of 5 for $85. The set contains the showdowns “The Bowl”, “The Pilots”, “The Water Child”, The Broom”, and “The Bus”. They will go on sale Friday Nov. 9th @ 12 noon PST! These will only be sold at the Gallery 1988 shop! They will not be sold in theScottCShop.
