Psychonauts 20th Anniversary Release!!!!!

It is hard to believe that PSYCHONAUTS was released 20 YEARS AGO! It was a life changing experience for me to be a part of a project of that creative magnitude and help build the beginnings of DOUBLE FINE PRODUCTIONS with TIM SCHAFER and the crew. It felt like an insurmountable feat to make such a game at times, but I am so proud of what we made. I am glad it actually happened!

I put so much of myself into the art direction for that game and it means so much to me to see the love that has poured out for it through the years. With the first game released in 2005 and the sequel in 2021, the Psychonaut family has really grown quite large! I decided to gather most the good folks from both games together for the first time in a brand new “PSYCHONAUT FAMILY PORTRAIT”!  The camp kids are finally posing with their idols the interns, Raz’s family are with the Psychic seven, Loboto, Sheegore and the crew from the asylum are even invited this party. And of course, Raz, Lili, Milla, Sasha and all the OG Psychonauts of lore. I very much enjoyed spending time with all these characters again.

Thank you for all of the support through the years!  I love you all and i love this Psychonaut family!

April Great Showdown Prints Coming Tuesday!!

April's Great Showdown release is coming next week! This month's 4 new timed edition prints are: "The Wedding Annulment", "The Horse and the Boy" , "The Ones on the Inside",   and "The Bear and the News Anchors" from the Great Showdown Portrait Series.

All will go live in the Scott C Shop next Tuesday, April, 15th @ 10 am PST/1pm EDT.

This will be the usual timed release which means the prints will be available for just 48 hours. The edition size shall be determined by however many have sold in that 48 hour span of time. Ends Thursday at 1:00pm EDT.

The Great Showdowns Memory Lane Experience

To celebrate the Great Showdown Original Art Auction going on right now, I wanted to walk down memory lane with all of you! The first Great Showdown paintings debuted in the first few Crazy 4 Cult shows at Gallery 1988, but the first solo exhibition collecting 200 of them came to Gallery 1988 in 2011 called simply The Great Showdowns.

And this is how it went:

2011 - The Great Showdowns

The maiden voyage of the Great Showdowns as their own experience. We started the 20 unlabeled showdowns the night of the opening for trivia and I painted Shaun of the Dead for the winner.

2012 - Return of the Great Showdowns

Surprisingly, another 200 Showdowns the following year. This was also the debut of the first book collection called “The Great Showdowns”. I painted Back to the Future 2 for the trivia winner live at the gallery.

2014 - Revenge of the Great Showdowns

This was first year of the Scavenger Hunt where I hid paintings around Los Angeles during the lead up to this show. This was also the debut of the second collection in book form entitled “Return of the Great Showdowns”. The new location of Gallery 1988 was right next to a bar, so I was able to hang out with everyone who lined up the days leading up to the opening to enjoy beverages and paint portraits. It was a wonderful time.

2020 - Legend of the Great Showdowns

This was perhaps the last time any of us were able to hang out with other human beings in person for a while since the world locked down a week later. I had a bunch of gatherings planned for the duration of this show that we had to do virtually in our locked down homes. We had large toys at this show for the first and only time. I was able to paint Pitch Perfect at the gallery for the trivia winner before we locked down.

2024 - Rise of the Great Showdowns

The return to hanging with actual people in person!  This show was at Gallery 1988’s pop up space.

Great Showdowns Original Artwork Auction Is Now LIVE!!!!

THE DAY HAS ARRIVED! 

The first ever GREAT SHOWDOWN ORIGINAL ART AUCTION has BEGUN!

Did you miss out on any of the past exhibitions? Did you get into collecting later on? This week is your opportunity at a chance to own more than 40 of the original Great Showdown water color paintings from the past four exhibitions that ran from 2011 to 2020. Pretty old ones in the mix!

Some things to know before you bid!

You must be a registered customer with a Scott C Shop account in order to bid. You can create an account by clicking the account link on the top left hand side of the shop’s homepage.

The auction app that the store uses does not send email notifications to the bidders. It is unfortunately up to the bidder to keep track of their bids on the “My Bids” link on the upper right hand side of the Auction Page.

All winners will be notified on Monday, March 31st. Please make sure that Sales@TheScottCShop.Com and Help@TheScottCShop.Com are on your list of safe e-mail senders.

Winners will have 48 hours to pay for their auction item. If after 48 hours the item has not been paid for your bid will be cancelled, and the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.

Priority International shipping is required for all international winners. First class shipping will not be offered.

The Scott C Shop reserves the right to refuse and cancel any bid at any time.
